We exist to make retrofit decisions straightforward.
Building Atlas is a UK software company that turns property addresses into costed, prioritised retrofit plans. We sit between the raw building data and the decisions that owners, managers, and lenders actually need to make with it.
Our mission
Retrofit planning for commercial property still happens in spreadsheets, when it happens at all. The result is capital wasted on the wrong buildings, MEES deadlines missed, and assets that strand quietly.
We built Building Atlas to change that: to make good retrofit decisions accessible to any property professional, at portfolio scale, in days rather than months.
We're climate optimists. We think the built environment can be fixed. Buildings account for roughly 40% of global carbon emissions, and around 80% of the buildings that will exist in 2050 are already standing. The opportunity is right in front of us.

The Building Atlas team
Why now
The 2028 EPC C minimum is now close enough that any capex plan approved this year will land inside the deadline. At the same time, lenders are starting to price transition risk into their terms, tenants are starting to price a brown discount into rents, and boards are asking for net-zero pathways that can survive proper scrutiny.
None of that gets solved by another dashboard or another consultant; it gets solved by a structured decision layer that sits between the building data and the capital allocation, which is what we built.
The buildings are there, the data is there, and the deadlines are there. What was missing was a way to turn all three into a defensible plan, fast enough to act on while there is still time to choose the cheaper interventions.
Our values
Honest about what we know
We explain our sources and our level of confidence. We don't claim more than the data supports, and we own up to our mistakes.
Commercial, not academic
Retrofit decisions are capital-allocation decisions. We frame everything in terms your investment committee will understand.
No greenwash
We don’t sell optimism. We sell plans that work within real budgets and hold up under scrutiny.
